Hey philipIm a traning pilot working on the cessna 172 and I read your article
and had a few questionwhat are the most important costs i have to remember if i start my own
charter airlines with one plane and only me as soul pilot?what is the best way for me to calculate the costs compared to
australia Darwin?i was wondering what are the basic charts needed for a cessna 172 for
eg landing and take off charts for the shortest runway possible?and lastly how much fuel average can one assume for a leased cessna 172?

In the U.S., I think that you need to have 1200 hours of experience to be pilot-in-command of a charter aircraft, so your main cost would be building 1200 hours of flying experience.I'm not sure what "Australia Darwin" is, other than a city in Australia.
It would be illegal to take off in a Cessna 172 without the owner's manual in the airplane. That owner's manual will have performance charts with takeoff and landing distances (demonstrated by a test pilot on a very long runway).
How much fuel does a Cessna 172 consume? 6-12 gallons per hour, depending on the engine and cruise speed selected.

charter in a 172? you gonna take one passenger? you need at least a 182 to put people in the back seats. and you better build a ton of experience before you risk your life, capital and lives of your passengers. one idea, get a multi rating and find a twin to use.

Cessna 172 is fully capable of carrying 4 passengers depending on your fuel needs. If you are flying local then this will not be a factor.
