The CFII-H candidate will develop and present a lesson plan on the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and similar radio-assisted approaches such as Localizer (LOC), LDA, and SDF. The lesson plan will include lighting and marking aids associated with runways served by instrument approaches. The instructor and candidate will discuss ways in which the lesson plan could be improved.


Completion Standards

By the end of this lesson, the CFII-H candidate will display, through oral examination, instructional knowledge of ILS, MLS, LDA, SDF, lighting and marking aids.
