During this lesson the student will accomplish a flight by
reference to instruments in simulated IMC conditions. If the student
already holds an instrument rating, this flight may be converted to
practice maneuvers at commercial standards as outlined in the PTS.

- IFR weather briefing
- Filing IFR
- Obtaining IFR clearance
- IFR departure
- Approach plates
- Briefing each approach
- Non-precision approach procedures
- obtain clearance
- set up avionics and plates for an approach back to BED
- depart BED for LWM
- request a non-precision approach
- go missed and request vectors for a non-precision approach back to BED
The student will be able to perform maneuvers and fly safely by
reference to instruments.
