Minneapolis [BIG] and St. Paul are "divided by the Mississippi River and united by the belief that the inhabitants of the other side of the river are inferior."

I was amazed by glass bus pavilions in the scrubbed downtown [BIG] and further wondered about Jewish settlement in Minneapolis [BIG].

Baseball has yielded to Snoopy [BIG] in the Mall of America, just outside of downtown Minneapolis, where the Walker Art Center outhips the New Yorkers with this update of Duchamp's bicycle wheel [BIG].

I was in fairly good company in Minneapolis , but moved on to Sauk Centre, made famous by Sinclair Lewis in Main Street. Despite his lampoon of the town, they've gone crazy for Sinclair, hanging banners on the "Original Main Street" , setting up a "Chamber of Commerce Sinclair Lewis Interpretive Center" and even adopting the insulting name Sinclair used to disguise his hometown: .
