What some people don't seem to understand is that we're not jealous of Bill's billions, we resent that he didn't actually earn it. If he had cured cancer or invented a car that ran on seawater he would deserve it, but he made his money through underhanded dealings and bullying and/or buying the competition. I had never heard that his mother was a personal friend with the IBM decision maker when he sold them DOS; software he simply bought from someone else, by the way. His basic motivation has been greed since day one, with a possible power trip fetish as a garnish. Evidence of this abounds; from his lack of any sizable charitable efforts, to his merciless vaporization of competitors, such as targeting Netscape to enable him to charge for the web browser in the future.
