I too am a Ford Focus/Lemon owner. I own a 2000 LX. My ignition is gone for a second time within one year from getting it replaced the first time. Currently I have to leave my key in the ignition, with a scarf wrapped around it. I made the mistake of forgetting about the faulty ignition and took my key out one day. I then had to bang on the key with the old ignition piece in order to get it to turn. For some reason banging on the key inwards, hard, makes it turn but not always does that work. So my second ignition is gone and I refuse to get it fixed again. It is a recall that Ford should acknowledge. I am noticing many others with the same ignition problem. I called the local dealership about the ignition and they informed me that they were after replacing 5 others that same month and that it should be a call back. Not just a coincidence.
