JSP Processing
JavaServer Pages are handled and processed by the Web container as follows
- On first access, the JSP is translated into a Java Servlet and compiled.
-
Thereafter, the generated Servlet is accessed directly.
-
Servlet is executed on server.
-
Response is generated and delivered to client.
-
JSP can contain arbitrary Java code to perform its processing.
Unlike JavaScript, code in JSP pages is executed on the server, not the client.
