What are the sources of blogs?

ýimmediately following the Spring 2003 beginnings of the second war in Iraq, a number of so-called bridgeblogs (such as Baghdad Burning and Dear Raed) emerged and were widely read by Americans because they offered an on-the-ground view of the events from the perspective of an author from a different nation, religion, culture, and/or language (Zuckerman 2005).

Nonetheless, the vast majority of blogs, particularly the filter-type that dominate the political blogosphere, are far more likely to focus on commentary and reactions to stories that emerge in the mainstream media than original reporting... However, if an echo chamber does exist it may very well be a two-way street...ý [to mix metaphors].
