My friend Mark took a Cessna 210 across the Atlantic with a local guy. I can get his contact information for you. A DA40, however, is easy to put into a container because the wings come off. Unless you want to fly the Atlantic for some reason you would probably be better off taking the plane to the factory in London, Ontario and having Diamond crate it and ship it to Europe, possibly sharing a container with one of their export aircraft.

zsolt,

You do not need a ferry pilot!

Your DA40 can have the wings taken off and the whole thing will fit in a single shipping container. I shipped one this way already. The wings are easy on and off, and if you don't skip on the packing, the plane will travel really well.

You might want to contact a fellow in Germany, whose name I will post here if it comes to me. He sells used aircraft in Germany, and specializes in Diamonds. Or, perhaps you could contact Diamond Customer support.

zsolt,

You might try to get in touch with Theo Wolter in Germany. Good Luck.

I can do it if you're not in a hurry - but not until the New Year.

Hi,

I am hijacking this thread as I just bought a DA40, too, which eventually wants to be taken back to Europe, preferably Denmark. I can take it on the East Coast maybe up to NY or even Maine.

Any ideas on how much this trip is going to cost me?

Any ferry pilots out there who would like to do it?

Thanks!
