Im going to upgrade with new PNY (add 2GB of RAM ) (2 x 1GB memory
sticks)
to my older Laptop.

I have either 1 or 2 memory sticks in there now.
What is best way to protect these older memory sticks if I want to
store them away somewhere.
Ie: protect from dry house static electricity etc

If just wrap them up in paper towel and into a plastic closable
sandwich bag - will that protect them from static and getting
zapped from walking on carpet from room to room ?
Thanks

The new chips will come in little static-proof envelopes. Just put the old chips in those envelopes and then store in a file folder or wherever else convenient. Modern RAM chips aren't as sensitive as older designs.

HI Phil Unfortunately the "new" PNY DDR 333MHz 1GB chips dont have a antistatic bag or anything - just come in a crappy plastic sealed little box.

Would just wrapping the old RAM sticks in tissue or paper towel and into a plastic bag help getting them zapped by static walking over dry house rugs ?
