Tie down / hangar rental fee web site?

Is anyone aware of a tie down / hangar comparison web site where I can find tie down /
hangar rental rates?

I've recently discovered that it's very difficult to find pricing for permanent tie down or hangar
rental rates; especially when a mid-size GA airport has several companies offering the
service. In my experience, I have to contact each airport management company or
municipality to find out which companies offer the service and then contact each company.

Perhaps this is simply the normal process of finding tie down and hangar rentals?

Many thanks,

I created a solution after I gave up looking for airport tie-down info for FAA based airports (both transient and permanent). I set up a website, over the weekend, where you can enter your own airport tie-down/hangar info; you can also search for other airports at: http://AirportRamp.com

Here are few examples:

http://AirportRamp.com/OKB

http://AirportRamp.com/CRQ

http://AirportRamp.com/L18

Feel free to enter your local tie-down/hangar info (there are about 20,000 FAA airports in the database).

Many medium size airports have multiple FBOs and some rent tie-down spaces and hangars (and some don't). I've discovered that it can be difficult to find the owner of an airport/FBO and the services, that they provide, recent prices, etc. I think that AirportRamp.com can help address this issue.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any feedback. (I can probably set up an API if any developers are interested in accessing this info.)

Thanks, Joe

Neat website. When I get the opportunity I'll contribute.

Thanks.

Adam,

Thanks for taking a look at airportramp.com. We'd appreciate any and all tie-down/hangar info that you can add to the database.

Cheers, Joe

Some feedback we got from pilots has been to add pilot shop info to each airport. This is a great point since we may have to change our plans and need a different chart, etc.

So, pilot shops have been added to http://AirportRamp.com. But, we need you to add the info for your local pilot shop or at least make the local pilot shops aware that they can enter their info.

Any and all comments welcomed.

Good on you for starting a new resource for us :) You probably already know about http://www.hangartrader.com but they do not have much on tie downs so perhaps you can fill that gap. Good luck!

John,

Thanks! Yes, I've seen HangarTrader.com, which is an excellent resource. They would be my first stop when purchasing a hangar.

The goal of http://AirportRamp.com is to focus on resources at a specific airport (tie- downs, hangars, pilot shops, etc) which aren't covered anywhere else.

If you try out the site then please don't hesitate to let me know your feedback.

Cheers, Joe
