Objective
This lesson introduces basic IFR flight maneuvers from an
instructional perspective. The instructor will simulate a student and
the CFII-H candidate will simulate teaching full panel attitude
instrument flying, partial panel attitude instrument flying, and a
non-precision approach.

- Straight and level flight

- Recovery from unusual attitude
- Steep turns
- Teaching partial panel attitude instrument flying; all maneuvers from full panel (above), except steep turns and adding the following:
- Timed turn to magnetic heading
- Teaching a non-precision approach
Not all maneuvers must be performed. The instructor may choose at
his or her discretion which areas need the most work.
Schedule
- out to the NW practice area for attitude and partial panel flying
- brief the GPS 23 approach to BED
- return via the GPS 23 to BED

Completion Standards
At the completion of this lesson, the candidate shall demonstrate
basic attitude instrument flying, using full and partial panel, from an
instructional perspective and a non-precision approach from an
instructional perspective.
