What I liked best about Costa Rica
- Everyone we met was happy to see us. People are friendly and
helpful and it has nothing to do with whether they think they're going
to get money out of you; it is just a way of life.
- Nobody tried to overcharge us despite our manifest inability to
speak Spanish.
- Seeing the diversity of wildlife changed my thinking about
rainforests, especially seeing the Scarlet
Macaws in Corcovado
What I liked least about Costa Rica
- Traveling on the road is just brutally difficult on the body and
spirit. A luxury bus is not so bad, but an airplane or a boat is
really the only comfortable way to cover ground in a country whose
roads are plagued by curves and potholes.
