Prop 65 was a voter initiative, so if by “government mandated”, you mean “mandated by the majority of the governed” (or at least those who bothered to vote….).
While I personally think that most of the CA propositions are crazy, I’m all in favor of not consuming lead, and leaving environmental and health issues up to the free market has been demonstrated time and again to be a very bad idea….

Classic! I saw a similar sign at Starbucks that stated, consuming beverages made from roasted coffee beans has been known to create carcinogens.
