hmmm…i guess flying an airbus isn’t the same as riding a bike…you never forget how to do it.
It was also Canadian pilots who ran out of fuel in a 767 years ago.
“Wow, that runway looks awfully short… did that third satellite ever turn up on the GPS receiver, Bob?”
You have to wonder.
Aw, but that error with the 767 was due to the ground crew, which mixed up gallons with liters when refueling the plane. As a result, they loaded it with much less fuel than needed. The pilot (who, IIRC, had experienced with gliders) was the one who saved the situation by making an emergency landing on an unused airfield.

The misidentified airport is slightly disturbing, but in my opinion the situations where somebody takes off or lands on a taxiway are the really scary ones.
