George W.’s re-inauguration: a day of celebration for Jews and gynecologists

As George W. is sworn in today for a second term, it occurs to me how grateful American Jews should be that he won.  For those Americans, of whom there are a fair number (see my Israel Essay for statistics), who believe that Jews have too much political power and, in particular, that Jewish Wall Street financiers control American politics behind the scenes, imagine what feelings a Kerry victory would have provoked.  We had an anti-gun candidate who had presented himself to voters for decades as Irish-American but was in fact one-quarter Jewish.  A majority of American Jews voted for this candidate, who was also supported with massive funds from George Soros, a Jewish baron of Wall Street, resulting in Kerry and Democratic “527 committees” spending $292 million during the campaign (versus $113 million on the Republican side, according to www.publicintegrity.org).  If it were Kerry being sworn in today that would have confirmed everything that a lot of folks believe about a Jewish conspiracy controlling American politics.


One group that does seem to be celebrating today are America’s gynecologists.  My aviation habit has thrown me into contact with a lot of ob-gyns, none of whom have shed a tear over the defeat of John Edwards, the Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate, who made much of his money suing ob-gyns for cerebral palsy cases.

  1. Please show me where Kerry ever claimed to be an Irish American. Good luck: the Globe couldn’t, I doubt you could. And he’s 1/2 Jewish, not just 1/4. Maybe these aren’t very important, but I don’t think this was a big issue for many voters, Jewish or anti-Semitic: most of the anti-Semites were already voting for Bush.

  5. Oh, please, please tell me you’re kidding and you’re not one of those paranoid “Jew eat?” Jews who voted against Abe Beame for mayor of New York back in the day not because he was an incompetent machine hack but because they were afraid they’d get blamed by the goyim when he screwed up.

    I had a strange dream this past July 4, 2004. I saw a line where over 120 will die within 3 years. A shadowy figure said so.

    The line included Bush, Cheney, Rehnquist,Kerry, The Pope,Sharon,Arafat, Castro,…and many others.

  7. What’s this american obsession with racial backgrounds and what country your ancestors were from? What on earth does it matter?

    When Amsterdam got a new mayor a few years back, it turned out he was Jewish. Funny thing was that the only media that cared were foreign, treating it as if it were something special. A few also managed to report that, really, the people involved (ie: Dutch citizens) couldn’t care one bit.

    Heck, my brother once had to defend his “1/4 German” 6 month old son to some American (part) Jewish idiots. He didn’t have much success in convincing them that, in fact, his son did indeed not have a drop of guilt, shame or responsibility for Nazi actions in the Holocaust and would not bring him up to believe he did.

    Can we all just get along here, please?

  8. No, it’s not a day of celebration. You have a strange way of looking at things.

    I don’t recall seeing Kerry on TV coming out of a religious service at a temple. Do you think he considers himself Jewish? What difference does it make if one grandparent or great-grandparent was Jewish?

    Yeah, Jews control politics, entertainment, world commerce, etc., etc. Then where’s my cut?

    As Jon Stewart said recently, if the Jews were controlling the entertainment business, he’d be on a major network and Leno, Letterman and O’Brien would be on Animal Planet.

I would have thought that the reason for celebration might have to do with the fact that Bush is much more likely to be in 100% agreement with the statement “the nation of Israel has the right to exist, and the Palestinian viewpoint (as taught in the Pal. media) that Jews are the descendants of monkeys and pigs is utterly false” vs. Kerry’s ability to be on both sides of the fence simultaneously.
