demonstrates a new version of the slide show software developed by Shimon Rura, Julie Melton, and myself. If you “view source” you’ll get documentation and a link to a .tar file. The new version is designed for easy reskinning.

  1. Maybe something is down now, but no slideshow started for me. (waited about 20 seconds). I’m on a new Mac with Safari.

  2. Works fine in Firefox on my OS X 10.4-equipped Powerbook. In Safari, no image came up on its own, but it seemed to work fine if I kicked it off by pressing the “next” button to see the first image.

On a similar note, I notice that photo.net now has a slideshow program for users’ photos. Maybe I just missed that before, or is that a recent addition?…

  3. A little more testing on my Intel iMac: Firefox does work. Safari displays no picture, and the buttons (first/prev/next/last) are all dimmed out. The pause button does toggle it off, then the play button toggles on, but no pictures ever display.

Ah, I just “viewed source” and see there is a comment about Safari problems.

If no one else is working on this, I might take a look at it. But I’m sure one of the developers would be about 100X faster fixing it.

Oh, I’m on 10.4.6, generally patched up to the latest. And I could use Firefox, but Safari has a few features I like.
