Folks:
I’ve drafted a new article: “Africa Photo Safari Guide”. Comments would be appreciated, ranging from typos to “you should be writing about xxx”.
Thanks in advance!
A posting every day; an interesting idea every three months…

may be it’s my monitor, but I noticed your recent photos look like they had too much unsharp mask.
Just a few things off the top of my head:
The vehicle configurations are specific to Southern Africa. East Africa tends to have enclosed vehicles with pop-up roofs. Kenya tends to have minibuses.
Another storage option, instead of a laptop, would be a portable storage device. There are plenty of choices around for this sort of device – basically, a portable hard drive with a card reader attached.
You should probably talk about camera support a bit more – you reference bean bags and tripods, but these aren’t even in your suggested equipment list.
In case you’re not aware, Nathan Myhrvold recently published an online article on African safaris, as well:

You might also talk about options for shooting and killing animals too. I enjoy both photography and hunting; are there any safari trips that combine both?
