  1. Once upon a time, I remember a certain teaching hospital I trained at, proudly showing off the new helipad they built on top of a new parking garage serviced by a new elevator to whisk patients straight from a chopper to the trauma unit. Unfortunately no one told the architects of the size requirements for the “big boy” gurneys which are now standard issue in the Emergency Medical System (600 lb capacity). To this day choppers are still met by an ambulance, the patients are forklifted into the back of the truck, which is then driven 3 parking levels lower to the ER and said patient is hoisted into the ER.

  2. Why are the obesity rates highest among the english speaking population in the entire world? About 2/3rd of US population is either obese or overweight as well.

One commonality I can think of is that no other language beats english when it comes to availability of 24 hrs TV content. We just have too much TV to watch in english 🙂
