Malcolm Gladwell on Steve Jobs (in New Yorker)

The latest New Yorker carries an article on Steve Jobs by Malcolm Gladwell. There are some interesting highlights lifted from the recent 656-page biography of Mr. Jobs so if you’re not willing to invest a rainy day in reading the book this could be a useful shortcut.

  1. “[Jobs] had never liked the idea of people being able to open things. ‘That would just allow people to screw things up.’ ” Crikey. How did the Apple II ever manage to come out on his watch?

  2. Thank you for the link – in an imperfect world, it is heartening to read Laurene Powell Jobs’ comment about – don’t skip the messy parts!

  3. So do you know which washing machine they got, Phil? Surprizes me to see you accept fragmental info 🙂 !
Thank you for the link. Never miss a post of yours.

I read an article about Steve Jobs and his washing machine (among other things) years ago. If memory serves, I believe he ended up getting a Miele.
