One way to grow the GDP…

I’m in Orlando right now. At the exit that I take from I-4 to get to my hotel there are the following: (1) a tattoo parlor, (2) a billboard advertising a physician-operated laser tattoo removal service.

Separately… would readers like to get together for breakfast (my treat!) on Saturday morning around 10:00 am? Somewhere close to Disney.

  1. Looks like a great location to open a personal injury law office. Thank you for invite, work keeps me in Ohio.

  2. I hired a recent college grad who came from a highly ranked private school. She was fairly impressive in her interviews, had loads of intellect and effectively conveyed what she could contribute to our firm. As an aside, our original meetings were in cold weather so the lady wore a jacket/business attire.
After deciding to hire her, a staffer (an older lady who’s been with me for years) called to “warn” that I may want to visit with our potential hire once more. Inquiring as to why she thought it necessary, my employee stated our eager-beaver prospect had been seen sans jacket and long sleeves and that she was sporting multiple tattoos on her wrist and forearm.
I guess I’m too old to be hip or cool, but for the life of me I cannot understand the fascination among twenty-something’s (and older) with a permanent mark on your flesh that for all intents and purposes doesnt convey grace or intelligence.
Yes, I met her again, grimaced at the ink…and hired her. So far, she’s performed satisfactorily. Although spring is here and sleeves are growing shorter, so it remains to be seen how clients will react when see her marks.
Maybe they won’t be as judgemental as I.

  3. Edit:
So far her customer base has been has been entirely made up of young people, all below 30.
