Travels with Samantha, Kindle version

Folks:

We have managed to push a Kindle version of Travels with Samantha out the door.

I would appreciate it if readers could download this (free if you’re a Kindle Unlimited subscriber) and tell me about any problems with the formatting.

Thanks in advance!

  1. “The Kindle edition of the classic 1993 web travelogue, a precursor to today’s blogs.”

What is this, a book description for ants? How can you expect children to download this book if they don’t even know what it is about? I don’t wanna hear your excuses! The description has to be at least … three times bigger than this!

But seriously, the description/summary needs to much, much longer and more enticing.

  2. Haven’t looked at it yet, but I’m surprised you chose Kindle for a photo book — I’d heard Kindles were terrible at displaying photos.

  3. billg: Thanks. I am hoping that Amazon will eventually merge this with the print version’s page, which has a full description.

Eric: It is a challenge to make a photo-heavy book work in the Kindle format and certainly on some of the Kindle devices. But on the other hand if an e-book isn’t available at Amazon then doesn’t that make it essentially unavailable as an e-book?
