Christmastime Transgenderism

At a suburban ballet school’s performance of the Nutcracker, I noticed that transgenderism was common. About 15 percent of the dancers who had been given a traditionally female first name, presumably corresponding to their birth certificate sex, were identifying as male (i.e., long hair pinned up under caps, traditionally male costume, etc.).

  1. Shakespear wrote the original transgender plays. All the actors for female parts were male. Unfortunately, being a white male writer put him out of favor of U Penn students.

  2. A couple of years ago, we signed my seven year old son up for free ballet classes offered at the high school. We simply wanted him to get some exercise, and he likes music. He enjoyed the classes, but what I really remember was how happy the teachers were to see him on the first day.
