A company in an industry where saving every gram of weight is critical buys the maker of some of the world’s heaviest handheld cameras: “Hasselblad Acquired By DJI” (not officially confirmed but suggested by this July 2016 press release).

Aren’t you jumping the gun? It sounds like an ordinary collaboration to me.
If true, it would back to origins for Hasselblad, which started by making aerial cameras.
No idea who DJI is. Had to look that one up. Chinese drone manufacturer. I am guessing they will mess up this acquisition somehow. I agree, it doesn’t seem compatible, in a number of ways.
