Celebration of motherhood on Facebook

In response to a post on Facebook about getting a Lyme disease diagnosis for a not-quite-well child after a few trips to the doctor and being “one seriously pushy mother with the doctor’s office,” there were nearly 100 congratulatory comments. Here’s a sampling:

  • Great catch, mom!
  • Good job mom!!
  • Way to follow your gut!
  • Great Mom! Persistence works!

  • Poor little guy, but so lucky to have YOU for his Mama Bear!!
  • Moms know best!
  • Way to go mommy!
  • Good instincts momma. Lyme is so scary for how sneaky it is
  • Good instincts mom!
  • Mother’s intuition is always the best.
  • The mom instinct is strong!!!

  1. Mz: Nobody has encouraged me to take this product. From this I infer that there is little demand for my immortality…

  2. Bill Burr got it right when he said, women are constantly patting themselves on the back…

  3. My children suffer from PPM (paranoid medical mum). This means being pushy with specialists instead of GPs. I would say this has been a pain a few times but worked well for one child on the third Ophthalmologist (there were five ophthalmologists in the end not including registrars and fellows who were involved). If, however, you shop around in Australia you can get yourself a Lyme disease diagnosis from some slightly cracked doctors – we simply don’t have it here and nor do we have the species that can spread it. Yes some people get sick but that doesn’t mean they have Lyme disease! Anyway, my wife was well congratulated on Facebook also… mumma’s intuition.

  4. Years ago, I chose the balmy weather and beautiful beaches of Southern California over the cold, wet, weather of the American NorthEast. Idiots on my facebook feed, including anti-vaxxers, Chakra adjusters and yogis were all stuff that I put up with in order to enjoy SoCal’s abundant physical comforts. Thank you for removing my last reason for regretting the move.
