Post Office sets brain on fire

Here’s a stamp design that I didn’t expect to see from an enterprise that gets revenue from selling stamps: “Repeal of the Stamp Act, 1766”

(Of course, if Vladimir Putin selects me as dictator to replace the Trumpenfuhrer, I will make it illegal to mail letters unless an Elvis Presley stamp is affixed.)

  1. The Stamp Act required stamps to be placed on legal documents, not as postage. The modern version of this is the real property transfer tax, which in some places are still called “deed stamps”.

  2. The fact that forever is crossed out is… disturbing. What are they trying to tell us?

  3. I think it would be great if they made a new commemorative stamp, “Remember the 5 cent stamp”
