Just one issue of Avweb…
- Cirrus SR22 lands on top of a Cirrus SR20 (nobody was injured, fortunately)
- Alaska floatplane pilot flies low enough to hit his friend in a boat (sad non-fatal outcome)
- School officials panic in their $100 million concrete bunker at the sight of a Cessna 152 (pilot of this 1,080 lb. (empty) machine arrested; reader comment: “It’s a brave new world. Deemphasis on the brave.”)
The news was not all bad/strange:
- Pipistrel, a Slovenian pioneer in this area, is cranking out 60+ electric-powered trainer airplanes a year now (could save the industry as the last of the piston-competent mechanics retire)
Look at the Pipistrel Taurus Electro! It sounds like a dream for pleasure/sightseeing flying. (Electric motorglider, side by side seating, trailer with solar panels)
