Our flight school here in the Boston area is looking for a full-time Robinson R44 helicopter instructor: full ad.
This is an opportunity to fly 500-600 hours per year in a helicopter that is much safer and more forgiving than the more common R22.
Maintenance is our school‘s biggest strength, the owner being a retired USAF officer who was responsible for maintenance of the C-5 cargo jets.
Please contact Mark (the owner), through the ad on justhelicopters.com.
$30 * 600 = $18,000/yr.
Boston area is not cheap when it comes to living expenses.
Maybe ad should specify “must have housing in parent’s basement”?
J: The instructor also gets paid for ground instruction time, which may be more hours per year than the flight instruction, and is paid at a higher rate.
Keep in mind that the most valuable compensation in a CFI job is the flight time itself, which qualifies the young person for a “real job” flying a turbine-powered machine.
The C-5 was nicknamed FRED by it’s crews. Stands for Fucking Ridiculous Economic Decision. I do think the pay rate mentioned above is really low. You know what they say you pay peanuts you will only get monkeys working for you!
