Happy Washington’s Birthday to everyone who wants to celebrate slaveholding, locating the capital city on the same river where you have a plantation and where you’ve invested in a canal, profiting from land stolen from the Native Americans, etc. For the rest of us, Wikipedia says
Colloquially, the day is also now widely known as Presidents’ Day and is often an occasion to honor the incumbent president and all who have served as president, not just George Washington.
What should merchants put on sale today in order to honor Mr. Trump?
My friends on Facebook refer to him as “Cheeto” so perhaps Cheetos should be on sale? (always a happy day for me!) On the other hand, The Donald is not on record as being partial to this ultimate snack food. Diet Coke, on the other hand, is high on the list.
The Boeing 757 and Citation X aircraft that Trump owns are no longer in production so they can’t be put on sale in a special Trump Edition. Sikorsky may not want to feature the S-76 so soon after the Kobe Bryant tragedy.
What non-food product would be Trump-related and fun for a Presidents’ Day sale?
Golden toilets, of course
Is it too early to be talking about carving President Trump on Mount Rushmore? Or should we wait until his second term is over? Imagine the regal sight of his flowing hair carved into granite…
Well, let’s look at it this way: if things go sour and the Republic continues to deteriorate (and with signs of that distress more clearly evident than any time before in my life) I’d recommend anything from the Cheaper Than Dirt survival gear section. For example, the North American Rescue Emergency Trauma Dressing – only $8.72! – and 100% of respondents would recommend it to a friend.

In the event we’re getting down to the last President’s Day, you might want something new and different for personal defense. Ruger has got you covered. They’ve produced what GunsAmerica is calling: “The Best Ruger Handgun in 5 Decades?” – the new Ruger 57.

This is not your garden-variety semiautomatic handgun, as it is designed and chambered for the 5.7x28mm high-velocity cartridge, pushing a 40 grain bullet to more than 2000 FPS. Keep in mind that an AR-15 style rifle typically fires a 5.56x45mm cartridge with a 55 grain bullet at around 3,000 FPS. So this is a slightly larger diameter, lighter, slower bullet but it’s coming out of a *handgun*:
The reviewer, Clay Martin (former Marine and Green Beret, retiring out of 3rd Special Forces Group) doesn’t mince words: “The new Ruger 57 is the best handgun Ruger has produced since the original Security Six..”
Ambidextrous safeties, fiber optic front sight from the factory, a red dot sight mount, 20 round true double stack magazine, ergonomically designed, a great trigger pull, and an MSRP of just $799. Keep in mind that the 5.7×28 is a round that, in the right hands, can turn a pistol into an effective 100 yard weapon. The downside is that ammo. is comparatively expensive and can be hard to find, so stock up now. Good luck!

Nothing more American that an AR-15.
