Gender studies: Maverique or Nuetrois?

An applicant for a Vermont state-sponsored job was confronted with the following form:

Note that it is unclear whether Nuetrois is a new gender identity or simply a variant spelling of the familiar gender identity Neutrois.

How about Maverique?

Maverique is a gender identity that is characterized by autonym towards manhood or womanhood, while having the internal conviction that it is unrelated or not derived from none of the binary genders,[1] while this is not a genderlessness or a gender apathy nor a gender neutrality.

That’s from the Simple English Wikipedia.

  1. If just a Bernie form. Grants are being offered to religious institutions to promote such nonsense.

  2. Pretty soon there will be an app for that. Google must be hard at work on it. Upload a picture, get a photo gallery back with all the choices and decide what you want to be today to torture your parents/caregivers. Then go get the shot.

“Fashion and gender is just like everything else, it’s always changing and evolving,” Smith said in an interview.
“That was the impetus of this, which is how do we make a safe space today for children in society,” he said.

    • +1
I’m guessing that the Transgender Umbrella is one that got blown inside out by a strong gust of wind.

  3. Can a private company use these forms?
This could be a way to screen applicants and exclude any potential “activists”.

Any selection other than male or female would be considered a disorder in DSM-II.

    • If you notice, the Census Bureau didn’t accept this nonsense. There were two choices and you had to select one of them. I concede that I don’t know the penalty for non-compliance, if any.

  4. Did you hear about the Gender Neutral farmer who tripped up in the cow pasture?
They were OK because they fell between two stools.

  5. Isn’t this an hoax? seems pretty obvious (I am happy to be corrected by actual facts).

    • Federico: My source is a non-technical person who actually is applying for these jobs and who lacks the skills necessary to mock up an HTML page. The source is not passionate about all things LGBTQIA+, but thought that I would be interested.

    • Phil, oh my, you are a technical person, you are posting this, and your source is unnamed.

    • Federico: I am not sure that it would help the young job-seeker if he/she/ze/they were known to have taken this screen shot that was ultimately forwarded to a wrongthinker.

Really, however, there is no need to make this stuff up. My inbox right now contains a reminder to fill out a “diversity and inclusion program” survey: “How often do the sessions you teach… explore issues of identity, equity, and/or privilege?” (I’m teaching SQL programming. I suppose we could consider the GRANT command to relate to issues of privilege.)

    • @philg, I find SQL “group by” statement as most equatable as it represents splitting sample in arbitrary chosen (politically) correct groups that is the base for correct left mindset and voting. Say that you de-emphasize “select” statement as it promotes privilege.

  6. A person could make someone in HR very worried by claiming they are “Derelicte” (pronounced as in the movie Zoolander) with a straight face and asking why it wasn’t valid enough to be included….
