The hotter the climate, the more people seem to love traditional Christmas decoration. Here are some neighbors’ houses. This one was fully up and running on November 23. Based on the lights 70′ above the ground in the palm trees, I’m going to guess that it was done by professionals with a lift.
Another photo from the same night:
You can’t truly appreciate it without the music.
A few days later…
Merry Christmas to everyone!
And… for those who are practicing Jewcraft (at the local CVS):
Merry Christmas 2 u and Fam
Can’t see anything but a pirate ship with snow pirate. Guess the neighbor is a Tampa Buccaneer fan. The lion kingdom now awaits its onslaught of Buccaneer advertisements.
The Jews control Hollywood!

I know, it’s the internet and there are nothing but contrarians here. 😉 You’re probably correct in general – it’s much easier to put up a killer light display when it’s warm. Your just take it to the logical extreme! Lol.
Here in my tiny MA Deplorable Zone, I’ve had several group email discussions recently and everyone stopped putting up lights when it started getting cold. Most folks here are content to decorate a smaller part of the house, the bushes outside, etc.
However there are still some who have very deep faith and a lot of patience while their husband hangs an entire smorgasbord of lights that easily match your ambitious Florida displays – except for the palm trees, of course. Every year, one particular family goes absolutely bonkers and the lights are probably visible from space. I know them pretty well – they have a developmentally disabled son who helps with the work every year, and they are very devoted to their faith. They’re nice people and they’ve had more than their share of hardship.
Every year they win the “most and best Christmas lights” award here. They’re motivated! And if they had a palm tree in the yard, I’m sure we’d see someone with a lift or some really big ladders, because I think they would do it, even here in MA.
Merry Christmas, Philip. Thank you for all of the fun posts this year. I’ll say more on New Years.
