It looks so ridiculous that I’m not sure if it’s not sarcastic. I live a couple of blocks from the campus and happen to be allergic to the sound of helicopters. Has anyone thought about my safety and comfort? I’m fine with the encampment, it reminds me of a live nativity scene in Italy or Spain, but the noise is annoying.
Could all these protesters actually help their goal by offering themselves as additional hostages to Hamas? Thousands of more hostages (from several universities across the US) may increase their leverage in negotiations.
They can and they should offer themselves as hostages to Hamas. This is what many did when they went Syria to join ISIS. It didn’t take them long to realize how naive and stupid their decision was. So yeah, all those student protesting in Columbia and elsewhere, they are better off if they give themselves as hostages to Hamas. Who knows, Hamas my release 1 existing hostage for every 10 new young and slander hostage they take in?
