84-year-old Nancy Pelosi says that 81 is too old to be a government worker

“Pelosi Suggests That Biden Should Reconsider Decision to Stay in the Race” (New York Times):

Representative Nancy Pelosi, a longtime Biden ally and the former speaker, is the most senior member of his party who has so far suggested he consider dropping out.

Ms. Pelosi, 84, a longtime ally of the 81-year-old Mr. Biden and one of the most seasoned and cutthroat politicians in the House, has been more aggressive in her public comments about the president’s candidacy than other party leaders, who have publicly stated only that they remain behind him.

The 84-year-old is “seasoned” and “aggressive” (like Mindy the Crippler, our golden retriever?) while the 81-year-old is too old to work for the federal government.

  1. To be fair, Pelosi is not calling for President Biden to resign; rather, he shouldn’t run for another four-year term. Of course, Pelosi is running for another two-year term, which will expire when she is 86. Pelosi already secured 73 percent of the vote in the jungle primary, so unless there is some massive scandal between now and November she will be reëlected

    • SN: California was previously famous for having a youth-oriented culture so it is kind of surprising that Californians keep electing people so old that they’re likely to die in office (gun-toting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dianne_Feinstein died at age 90 after winning an election less than a year earlier).

  2. Nancy is a real trailblazer! Joe Biden has been following in her footsteps in recent days. He’s going to do a “big boys” press conference and maybe he can even use the “big boys” steps onto Airforce One sometime soon. Nancy is the second smartest person in America according to Joe Biden, so it’s worth paying close attention to her.
