Six days ago (i.e., a couple of months since the first attempted assassination of Donald Trump) Kamala Harris said that Donald Trump is “a danger to … our democracy”:
Today, another American apparently took Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at their respective words and tried to save our democracy with a rifle. Kamala Harris says “I am glad [the danger to our democracy] is safe”:
Color me confused!

Joe Biden also said that Trump was a threat to our democracy and now his handlers have him saying “I am relieved that the former President is unharmed.”

The Florida Panthers are a threat to my fellow cubs’ race to the Stanley Cup. This does not mean I wish their players any harm.
Is that same threat as someone people say is worse than Hitler?

@Bruin: American politicians use the word “Democracy” as a placeholder for all things that are good. Voters understand that the alternative to “Democracy” is “dictatorship”, and “dictatorship” is very bad.
If the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup were equivalent to the American government being taken over by a dictator, you should expect people to start shooting at them if they win any games.
And if you think Donald Trump has any more chance of becoming dictator than the Panthers, you should be quarantined from the general population to protect yourself from your own stupidity. In my opinion.
Democracies need a threat which its leaders would like to save it from. Removing threats to democracies is undemocratic.
