Post-Election Horror

If the election didn’t provide enough horror and dread… A trick-or-treater who showed up at our house last week:

(note the bandage on his ear)

And here’s my 90-year-old mom meeting a chainsaw killer with Costco chocolates. Mindy the Crippler is ready to provide backup. Not in frame: three of Regina’s grandkids (9, almost 11, and 15), all of whom had an epic evening.

  1. Lions were as surprised as anyone that Simba returned from exile & are cautiously optimistic about the completion of the circle of life, as always. The flipping of the senate & the 1st non incumbent republican win of the popular vote in over 30 years says the voters weren’t having any of the Kamalif* dream. She was a lot farther off than anyone reported.

Don’t expect another republican to win. No-one has loomed quite as large as Mr T since Reagan. The rest were either dufuses or dynasties living off the Reagan legacy & the country is going to keep pivoting more liberal. They’ll probably become the liberal party if they win again while democrats become socialist.

  2. I do feel a little sympathy for all those Democrats who now regret voting for Kamala in the primaries.

  3. Go back and re-watch the narrative Democrats were riding on that they believed will position Harris for victory: it focused on educated voters and women as key supporters.

Educated voters: It’s now clear educated voters saw through empty promises and incentives — like student loan forgiveness — as attempts to secure their votes.

Women: It’s now clear that many women — black, white, or orange — have reservations about letting a woman run the nation’s highest office.

  4. Indeed, my initial assessment of how voters would see Kamala, “Hilary of colour”, was more accurate than I began to think over the ensuing months.
