I have been getting spammed by a Google+ user. He seems to be some sort of political activist. As a Massachusetts resident, my vote counts for almost nothing on national issues so I would like to unsubscribe. Yet my only options are to unsubscribe from all Google+ email notifications (some of which might be useful or interesting) or none. In the 1980s USENET days it was possible to establish a “bozo filter” to screen out messages from posters with a track record of being uninteresting. Yet somehow we’ve lost this feature in Google+.

Guys: I’m not following this person. So there is no convenient way to block him inside Google+ via the Web interface. I didn’t see any way to block him from the email message, only a general “unsubscribe to all” link.
If you bring up his profile in G+ via search (a general search or a search of the people who are following you) you can block him, whether you’re following him or not.
Mark: Thanks, but really I think the the “unsubscribe” link in the mail should include three options: “Block all”, “Block this guy”, “do nothing” instead of the current all/nothing.
I’d just create a gmail filter to delete anything from him or mentioning him. But that assumes you use gmail for your e-mail.
