Department of Understatement: Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein

From “Bill Gates Met With Jeffrey Epstein Many Times, Despite His Past” (NYT):

His lifestyle is very different and kind of intriguing although it would not work for me,” Mr. Gates emailed colleagues in 2011, after his first get-together with Mr. Epstein.

Almost as good as The Jean-Paul Sartre Cookbook:

Today I made a Black Forest cake out of five pounds of cherries and a live beaver, challenging the very definition of the word “cake.” I was very pleased. Malraux said he admired it greatly, but could not stay for dessert. Still, I feel that this may be my most profound achievement yet, and have resolved to enter it in the Betty Crocker Bake-Off.

Also in the article…

Mr. Gates, in turn, praised Mr. Epstein’s charm and intelligence. Emailing colleagues the next day, he said: “A very attractive Swedish woman and her daughter dropped by and I ended up staying there quite late.”

  1. Not surprised they got along. Both were having sex with women doing it for the money.

  2. Seems fair. Bill Gates for Richard Stallman. Closed Source gets one of ours, we get one of theirs.

“Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy’s first law of Equivalent Exchange.” – A. Elric

  3. Good that Bill Gates has nothing to do with developing Windows. Otherwise I would have to stop using it.

    • He was a or renaissance man: financial prodigy, an escape artist and a handyman with iron will who was able to hang himself on bad, before disabling cameras on the outer side of his cell door. Nothing to watch here, move along.

  4. It’s weird because part of me is thinks “It’s a bit unseemly that this woman likes to troll her beautiful 17 year old daughter out in front of the billionaires”, but the other part of me, if I had a 17 year old daughter and the opportunity, would have (up to now, I suppose) been delighted to introduce her to Bill Gates.
