Trump is an ongoing threat to our national security, so we’re going to take a couple of weeks off

Shocking: Trump has now been impeached by an impartial group of politicians who said, back before he took office, that they would impeach him.

Disturbing: Trump is “an ongoing threat to national security” (Nancy Pelosi, opening the “debate”; is the threat so bad that Pelosi will start converting some of the family’s real estate assets into gold?)

Confusing: The people who impeached Trump because of the “threat to national security” are now packing up for a well-deserved Christmas vacation. Trump, Kim Jong-un, and other nuclear-armed maniacs, should be fine for a couple of weeks without any supervision or advice.

Separately, who has read the 658-page report from the House Judiciary Committee that explains what Trump actually did? Are the crimes so complex that 658 pages of explanation are required? That’s only a little shorter than Anna Karenina. A typical indictment of a Nazi war criminal for the Nuremberg Trials seems to have been roughly 15 pages (examples).

[I forgot to plug in my phone for a quick drive home from a restaurant this evening and therefore wasn’t listening to these geology lectures. Flipping stations, I found out about this from the local NPR station. Massachusetts has nine Representatives in Congress. Which one’s speech did the station choose to broadcast? That of Ayanna Pressley, the only Massachusetts-based member of “The Squad”.]

Given that the votes seem to be entirely along party lines and the Senate does not contain enough Democrats to remove El Presidente, is there any reason to read about this?

Who else thinks it strange that politicians can use the language of crisis and then take a couple of weeks off?

  1. The left wing of the Democrats don’t just want to take a couple of weeks off, they want to delay the Senate trial by months or indefinitely, to deny Trump the possibility of acquittal before the election, betting that additional charges can be brought in connection with the ongoing investigation of his finances and whatever else he does in the next year.

  2. I believe you are conflating urgency and criticality. Let’s look at a definition of crisis:

3a: an unstable or crucial time or state of affairs in which a decisive change is impending
especially : one with the distinct possibility of a highly undesirable outcome

I’d say using the power of the Presidency to directly sink a political rival constitutes a crucial time with the distinct possibility of a highly undesirable outcome. It doesn’t imply that urgency is required.

  3. It’s not strange at all: it’s a Nazi conspiracy to help re-elect Donald J Trump, which proves that members of Congress are Russian assets and (Shadow Speaker) Putin told them to disperse.

Their evil plan is to let this Illegitimate President brainwash our little children (aka, Millennials) by telling them every day on Twitter that the evidence was so pathetic that the Democrats would not even dare submit the impeachment articles to the Senate.

Now I see that the impeachment is precisely what Chairman Kim Jong Un meant when he said, “It is entirely up to the US what Christmas gift it will select to get”.

  4. They can take a couple of weeks off, because they are not running a government in a crisis, but they are participating in a realty TV show. Everybody needs a break over the Christmas holidays, even the political contestants on “The World of Trump”. Do not worry, the show, will return in January.

    • Note to readers… Pavel is a foreigner who is trying to meddle in our election. This may be a crime.

  5. What a joke this impeachment is… you’d think the Mueller Report was an embarrassment enough and now they are trying this…

Look at clowns in the Democratic Debates. Does anybody think any one of them has a chance? Trump will slaughter them come election time!

And Trump – what can I say the guy is a 100% egomaniac… and the Fed is helping him to bubble up the economy with the low interest rates and bailouts.
Wall Street are fools to keep believing him for all this time he’s been dragging out this deal with China.

But even with all that these Democrats are even crazier!
