I remember when you harnessed tens of thousands of dollars worth of Oracle and proprietary Unix and very large servers, not to mention your own then rarefied database and web server knowledge, just to teach people how to take good photographs. To what extent has iPhone rendered that particular exercise pointless 🙂

    • Ryan: Great question! Smartphones certainly are a lot smarter than any traditional camera ever was or is. So the ordinary family somewhat-wide image tends to come out pretty well. Smartphones are also shockingly good at macro.

      Some of the photo.net topics would still be live ones today, e.g., sports photography, studio lighting, underwater photography, etc. Apple and Samsung can’t be bothered to go after the last 5 percent of use cases.
