What jobs could Biden and Trump do if they fail to win?

Within a few days we will know whether Biden (78 later this month) or Trump (74) will be available to work in the private sector starting in January.

According to the American voters, whose wisdom can never be doubted(!), these two are the most able administrators in our land. So… what would Trump do if he lost? Go back to chairmanship of his real estate empire? Phil Ruffin is still actively managing his real estate empire at age 85 (and was vigorous enough at 72 to marry Oleksandra Nikolayenko, Miss Ukraine 2004).

How about Biden? Leaving aside lobbying and other jobs that are dependent on connections (not to say “corruption”!), who would want him to start work at their enterprise at age 78? What would Biden be able to do?

How about Hillary Clinton? In November 2016, more than 65 million Americans believed her to be the most able administrator in the land. What has Hillary done since then?

  1. “Within a few days we will know…?” I appreciate your optimism. Let us hope within a month. The Supremes didn’t decide Bush v Gore until December 12th.

  2. Biden will accept the Nobel and step aside so Kamala and Mayor Pete can run the country.

Trump will hustle up a cable gig so his acolytes will have a place to worship him and leave the rest of us out of it. His act is stale and he doesn’t learn.

  3. This post presents a real insight. Most politicians are useless outside the political realm.

    • M: I think it is odd. Does anyone think that CVS would hire Joe Biden to manage a drugstore, for example? Or that McDonald’s would trust a 78-year-old to manage a company-owned restaurant? But millions of people who would say “I don’t think Joe Biden has the numbers skills to keep a McDonald’s in the black” and “I don’t think Joe Biden has a good enough brain to juggle all of the issues that might arise during a day at a CVS” will eagerly vote for him!

Can we infer from this that it is much easier to be President of the U.S. than to run a McDonald’s?

  4. Both could be Walmart greeters. I don’t think Joe could pull it off but Trump would be awesome as a supermarket bagger. Trump is going back to the WH and Joe is going back to his basement with his buckets of Chinese cash.
