The street-facing wall of a Reform (Jewish) Temple in Washington, D.C.:
If “Black Lives Matter” and “We Support Gun Sense Reforms” are the two commandments worth posting on the wall most visible to the public, is it fair to say that these are the most important elements of American Reform Judaism?
The front door has some good news for anyone who wants to come in and carry out a repeat of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting (a white male who accurately perceived low-skill-immigration-supporting Jews as his enemies came into the temple rather than traveling to one of the organizations that is actually part of the immigration-industrial complex). Nobody inside is going to be armed.
While we can sometimes trust in Yahweh (but why did He allow the U.S. to have a Second Amendment?), right now it is more important to worship St. Fauci:
The building could have comfortably accommodated more than 500 people, but only about 15, including the rabbi, cantor, et al., had been allowed in for Saturday morning services. The main sanctuary:
Not too many black jews out there. Most of them fit in a 747 from el al in 91.

This post does not belong on high holidays. This is time for unity, brotherly love and seeking God.
It is sad that said institution tries to impose political constraints and those seeking God.
What happen to lefty cry of keeping church and politics separate? Suggest new name “temple of Wilderness of Zin”. But it is great that even lefties in Washington DC are seeking God and bother attending any services at all.
Curmudgeon (@philg) found heretics (reform). Match made in heaven.
Either way chag the past holiday sameach to Philip and Reform congregation(s) of Washington DC. God bless your and their souls as they say in the South
Is it crude to suggest that Jews keep and bear arms? You would think that would be a “fool me once, shame on Hitler, fool me twice shame on me…” type of situation.
Anti – 2-nd Amendment stance documented in this post has nothing to do with Judaism which does not deal with matters of public policies as long those policies do not force Jews break God’s commandments. So normal course of action is to let congregants arm or do not arm themselves in accordance to Federal and local laws. In this case we have a political stance and my guess is that it was brought by overzealous partisans running the congregation and the synagogue.
Historically American Jews support right to keep and bear arms and for example fought to be inducted into New Amsterdam militia during Dutch rule in New York. A Jewish community leader also headed Philadelphia militia during American Civil War.
