Check out the caption at the bottom of the photo in this recent New York Times article:
Claudine Gay, the former president of Harvard University, left the university only months after she started the role.
The tenured plagiarist, who can choose to collect a paycheck from Harvard every week until she is dead, even if her brain goes “full Biden”, “left the university” according to the New York Times. What does the Harvard web site say? “Claudine Gay is the Wilbur A. Cowett Professor of Government and Professor of African and African-American Studies.”
A peasant reading the article might get the false impression that there were financial consequences in Academia for elite workers who break rules or make mistakes!
@Phil i am not sure why you are surprised by this. This is typical of all news agencies both left and right. I see lot of similar news on Right media, example when a cop gets fired or leave the force(pending/upcoming investigation), they never tell you that they will still get full pension and other benefits for life.
But this person who “left the university” still has an office there, still teaches students (how to plagiarize?), etc. So it isn’t quite the same as the government worker who transitions from getting paid to do almost nothing to getting paid to do exactly nothing.
What sort of idiot would honour Harvard credentials? A Harvard degree is an indelible stamp of buffoonery.
If large publicly traded firms were laying off all who made mistakes the they would not have any management left. Public firms I had been working for usually promoted their most dangerous employees. See main Dilbert principle: promote incompetent to a high enough level where he/she do not imped actual work. These are usually Harvard/MIT/ etc graduates, so they are used to feeling special and be judged by their tag, and to interface style non-desrved high grades
