The 10-year-old caught a break when we spent the afternoon at the Electromagnetic Pinball Museum, about 12 minutes north in Pawtucket. It’s an all-white group of people embedded in an all-Black neighborhood of, I think, Cape Verdean migrants enjoying a comprehensive welfare lifestyle. BMS had gross fish sticks on Friday, and grade D (edible by livestock) food most days. The real problem was the lunchroom ambiance, with all the “rats de quai femmelles” yelling at me from across the room, asking for a date or pouring perfume on me. The girls in RI were kinda cute in a mousy way, but desperate, this one didn’t even have a date until the end of high school:

The citizens of Rhode Island treated my family and me horridly at work, at school, and in the community. It really doesn’t deserve any tourism or publicity at all. The ones I talk to still call me mean names. And of course the bullies remain leading the classroom:

I guess to some extent the finbros wanting to live on the shore have displaced the townies. Most of the food they like there is disallowed by Leviticus 11:7-12.

Instead of, or in lieu of instructions on the importance of changing your PIN for EBT, why not include guidance on getting a job and being responsible?
As for Spring Breaks, all I ever did was catch up on my studies or take on odd jobs to earn some extra cash to pay the bills.
George: A noble SNAP/EBT beneficiary is “being responsible” by progressive standards, I think. He/she/ze/they is reducing inequality in spending power by taking away some of the spending power of those who are dumb enough to work. Fortunately, nobody measures inequality in terms of leisure time. If that were done, it might look ugly because folks on welfare would have way more leisure than the chumps (working class).
