Posters to show solidarity with our baked brothers, sisters, and binary-resisters in Europe

No more performative empty words for me while Europe suffers through temps over 100 degrees (in the units that God prefers). There IS a sacrifice that we Americans can make and be part of a global solution. With the help of graphic artist N. Vidia, I prepared posters and distributed them around our neighborhood:

Gemini (“you can help” makes this consistent with #climatechange and exhortations to recycle plastic), ChatGPT, Grok, Claude (“small but meaningful act” is a nice touch).

Because I am a terrible human being, I posted the above in various places on X. Most of those who responded did not process these are satire. Empty words and useless gestures have become so common among the righteous that it seems entirely believable that a group of American progressives would organize a campaign like the above.

    • You don’t appreciate that Gemini, backed by all of Google’s accumulated wisdom, believes that the U.S. is a mixture of skin tones (ignoble white hands on the t-stats and also a noble Black one) while everyone in Europe seems to be dark-skinned? Actually, maybe this shows Gemini’s belief that Europe is adapting to a changing climate. Gemini shows European leaders replacing their heat-intolerant subjects with imports from Africa and the Middle East who are, presumably, accustomed to hot weather.

    • The second poster shows the comfy chair, houseplant, and lamp outside the house. Platinum Level supporters?

Also, in the third poster did anyone else notice the people in the background are fugly, pardon me, attractiveness challenged? The white guy’s pinky seems to be growing out of his nose.

I looked at the pictures first, and thought “what a brilliant idea!” Better slop, evolving into world domination.

  1. Reminds me of the Charlie Hebdo incident in 2015, when Facebook introduced a “flag of France” filter that you could overlay over your profile picture to show your support. I remember many left-leaning people did so then. How times and beliefs have changed, even in a single decade! Many more incidents like Charlie Hebdo have happened since, yet Meta and others have not done these widespread campaigns.

  2. I was thinking about this while running today. This actually is quite interesting. If you `s/tech/Nature` in this, which makes it a satire, it would be a totally fine penance in a culture based on Nature, I believe. So, something like sweating a bit more outside would be a totally fine spiritual way to connect with the EU folks, IMO.

  3. Stand with Europe? Why?

Did Europe stand with the United States and Israel during the military operation against Iran’s regime to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program? Did Europe support efforts to prevent Iran from gaining leverage over the Strait of Hormuz? This was a prefect opportunity for Europe to demonstrate its support and acknowledge the potential global consequences of an unchecked Iran. Instead, European governments criticize the U.S. And Israel for this war in favor of welcoming Islamic values while letting their society decay and lose their identity.
