Joe Biden thinks other people should hire Black managers

More Super Bowl questions….

First, in watching TV coverage of the event, did anyone see a spectator wearing a mask? The nearby schoolchildren were recently subjected to an escalation in their mask orders.

Also potentially of interest…. “Biden calls out lack of Black head coaches in NFL in Super Bowl interview” (NBC):

“It’s not a requirement of law, but it’s a requirement, I think, of just some generic decency,” the president told NBC News’ Lester Holt.

President Joe Biden called out the lack of Black head coaches in the NFL in an interview that aired during the Super Bowl, saying having diverse leaders in the league is a requirement of “generic decency.”

As NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell pointed out, Biden said in an interview with NBC News anchor Lester Holt, “they haven’t lived up to what they committed to and lived up to being open about hiring more minorities to run teams.”

“The whole idea that a league that is made up of so many athletes of color, as well as so diverse, that there’s not enough African American qualified coaches ‘to manage these NFL teams,’ it just seems to me that it’s a standard that they’d want to live up to,” he said. “It’s not a requirement of law, but it’s a requirement, I think, of just some generic decency.”

But how many Black cabinet secretaries has Joe Biden hired? He has hired some white-looking people who identify as “women” and at least one member white member of the “men who have sex with men” (the official CDC phrase) group, perhaps proving that white women and white 2SLGBTQQIA+ are the enemies of Black advancement in the Victimhood Olympics (if a company can get equal “diversity” credit for hiring a white woman as for hiring a Black man, essentially the white woman has grabbed the quota that had previously been reserved for Blacks).

A gallery of mostly white skin is available at https://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/cabinet/ and it even includes a white person who was supposedly purged:

Here are some people who might identify as “white women”:

(Note that the former governor of a state famous for strip clubs and tattoo parlors is secretary of commerce.)

And now that Asians are considered victims…

Pew:

In 2019, there were 46.8 million people who self-identified as Black, making up roughly 14% of the country’s population. This marks a 29% increase since 2000, when there were roughly 36.2 million Black Americans.

If we assume that at least 20 million out of the 46.8 million identify as “women”, why can’t the entire cabinet be people who identify as Black women, a historically underrepresented group in the highest levels of American government? President Biden said “there’s not enough African American qualified coaches” was an unacceptable excuse for the NFL. Does Joe Biden expect us to believe that, with respect to cabinet jobs, there aren’t enough qualified candidates in a pool of 20 million?

  1. Thank you for exploring additional social justice contradictions! Since Blacks make up 57.5% of NFL players (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1167935/racial-diversity-nfl-players/), this is an inequitable quota which should be reduced to 14%.

I found the link to Nkechi Amare Diallo highly interesting; Wikipedia seems to have declared total war on her. Why can one not self-identify as someone with a higher level of skin pigmentation?

I would think that Blacks have recognized the loophole that 2SLBGTQQIA+ offers corporations: Men can tick a box and raise the women quota. That would explain the nuclear backlash against the heretic (money is always most important in social justice).

  2. Liberals are hypocrites. A great discovery! Maybe we should let them know, so they can change their ways.

Anyhow, I don’t know why this didn’t occur to me until now, but is there a good chance that the mask mandates are being pushed for the simple reason that children are (10 percent, 50 percent, 90 percent?) less rambunctious when so gagged? I can just imagine the teachers whispering to each other, “oh my god they are so well-behaved. It’s a miracle! We can’t go back…”

  3. Would racial equity be achieved in the coach/player balance if the NFL just hired more white players?

  4. I found this fascinating inre: Gina Raimondo, or rather, her father:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gina_Raimondo

“Her father, Joseph (1926–2014), made his career at the Bulova watch factory in Providence, Rhode Island. He became unemployed at 56 when the Bulova company decamped operations to China, shuttering the factory in Providence.” So it was 1981 when Bulova decided that China was a better place than Providence to build their watches. AFAIK Bulova is now owned by Citizen (Japan) but do not know the source of many of their watch movements first hand. It’s a contentious (and muddy) issue but the consensus seems to be that some (lower end?) Bulova movements are made in Hong Kong, which of course, as we all know (!!!) is not Hong Kong. It is CHINA.

Anyways, you used to be able to make a good living in Providence at one of the more respected and beloved watch companies in the world. Now you can make a living strip-mining the poor there, and that’s our Madam Secretary of Commerce!

I think they need to liberalize their marijuana laws a little more, but apparently it’s “quick, convenient and legal” to get a Medical use authorization.

  5. I’m ignorant about American football. Aside from systemic racism, what other reasons could there be for lack of Black in the coaching office? What makes a good coach? Is winning “the only thing?”

    • What does really good at it mean? If winning a Super Bowl ring is the criteria then there are a lot of bad coaches out there.

  6. I love it when my own very Conservative father was so far ahead of alleged Progressives that nobody even remembers: At one point he ran a business in which one side involved a two-and-sometimes-three shift key-entry team with the other side the data processing via a couple of IBM mainframes of various kinds. Anyway, we the key entry side was still a profitable business at the time in America and you needed (in reverse order and missing some here for brevity:

    1) Well running, nicely maintained and organized machines.
    2) A pleasant, well-lit, comfortable and climate controlled work environment for 30-40 people with nice kitchen/break and restroom areas.
    3) Better than industry-average pay+”NJ Cost of Living” tariff (car insurance, taxes) and an easily reached and well-attended and maintained building, especially during the winter.
    3) A very competent manager who understood everything including the final data products at least at he symbolic level, and who could also manage a mixed race/ethnicity group of (mostly) women, from the United States but also people who were immigrating from places like Pakistan and India with their families.

My father’s choice for 2nd Shift Manager: A Black woman who lived within 10 miles of the building, had a serviceable car and understood the business. Her name was Mary and she understood every aspect of what she was doing, including cross-cultural management skills. At the time, Pakistani and Indian women sometimes did not like each other very much at all. And sometimes they didn’t like Black people, either. She had a family of three children and a husband who was “troubled” by drugs and alcohol but worked odd jobs and construction.

Mary was a fantastic person and my Dad was proud to employ her and unflinchingly stood behind her during disputes. She was bright and super-competent. We were Woke before it was Cool.
