Today is the sixth anniversary of the best video to come out of coronapanic. By Adley Kinsman:
What was on this blog on April 20, 2020?
- #StayHomeSaveLives or #StayHomeTradeLives? (Clinical trials for new drugs are on hold)
- We haven’t been using our car that much lately… (“I wonder if all of the bailout money has left the car dealers and manufacturers so flush that they don’t need to offer discounts”)
- From mass.gov: Guide to whether you should join an anti-lockdown protest (a day later than the above; “The average age of a COVID-19 victim is 81. Just one (1) person in Massachusetts under the age of 30 has perished from COVID-19. Twenty one out of 1,809 have been under age 50”)
Phil’s covid data analysis was his finest hour. There was far better information and analysis here than in the mainstream media. Well done, Phil!

The comments were par excellence too. Good times, good times. Free money, stockpiling TP, avoiding the general public…. I’m tearing up a little, nostalgic for the salad days of Wuvid-19 [sniff]. I wasn’t reading Phil much though, mostly Les Miserables and The Last Man:

I guess the “Best Covid-19 Video” is funny, insofar as any parody of a psychotic episode is. (Pesky old people, non-productive and useless, ruining everyone’s Spring Break orgy and economy.) The post-pandemic mass psychosis isn’t very funny, though. Plague-humor-wise, I think this one is much funnier and timeless, but I’m kind of droll. “I can’t take him, it’s against regulations.”
